Reflecting Absence 9/11 : New York City
Visiting the World Trade Center Memorial
It has been almost two weeks since our trip to New York City and I’m finally ready to write about it. The plan was to meet up with my fiancee Chelsea’s father and attend his boxers fight at Madison Square Garden. The rest of the weekend was set for some sight seeing. We wanted to mainly walk through Times Square and finally visit the 9/11 Memorial. The attack happened almost 23 years ago so we weren’t expecting anything like what we experienced when we finally reached the memorial.
All was going according to plan. We arrived in the city by train and met up at the New Yorker with Chelsea’s father Mike. After checking in we sat down and had a meal together while catching up. Side note, the diner at the base of the New Yorker hotel has wonderful burgers and even better French Onion soup. The weather was warm for the season and everything was perfect so far.
We sat just above ringside in the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The seats were perfect…
