Must have features checklist for SaaS Admin Panel
If you are building a SaaS, you must also need a Super Admin Panel or Admin Panel that you or your internal team would operate. The main goal of the Admin panel is to control the users, subscriptions, usage, and other contents of your SaaS application. In today’s article, I will share some of the most important features you Must Have before launching your SaaS in the market.

Before we start I wanted to share with you all the 3rd book that I wrote on SaaS marketing, I’ve seen a lot of my clients and people around the world face problems in marketing their SaaS or getting their first paid users. Well, there are a bunch of things you need to know about marketing and sales, I’ve tried to compile enough information as I can on SaaS Marketing into my book “Marketing Strategies to Grow Your SaaS”, you can check it.
#1 Magic Link (Auto-Login into users Account)
Okay, I know the name looks wired but what I mean by Magic Link is a link for every user who has created an account on your SaaS once clicked it will redirect to the user's account and you will be auto-logged inside the user account without any password or email. With the help of this feature, you would be able to troubleshoot your user's accounts in case they are having problems using your SaaS or get an insight into any user account. Remember here I’m talking about getting logged in inside the user account without the need for Email and Password not duplicating the features and reports of a user account on an admin panel.
#2 Ability to enable and disable users
I think this section does not need much of an explanation as the name suggests you would be able to enable and disable the user account directly from the admin panel also make sure once the user account is disabled all the services or things related to that user in your SaaS should be disabled too, means it should not happen you’ve disabled the user account but in the background, there is some kind of automation going on with features that your SaaS have to offer so make sure those things are also stopped.
#3 Control over subscriptions and quotas
This is one of the most important features that your Admin panel must have, think about it this way your SaaS was facing downtime for a whole day, and your user's activity was paused due to this, for the paid users this will create an issue because they have already paid you for the SaaS so you have to credit extra time or quota into their account to cover this up. This feature will allow you to do this, and trust me you will face some kind of downtime even if your SaaS is built by great engineers. If possible you should also have a feature to provide discounts and coupons to your users or you can do this directly from Stripe Dashboard too.
#4 Content Editor
This feature will allow you to quickly edit your content in your SaaS for things like Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, Data Retention Policy, and other necessary documents that your SaaS needs. This way you don’t have to ask your developers to do this again and again in case an emergency is needed (Sometimes it can be hard to reach developers especially if they are in different time zones).
#5 Users Data backup and Retention
Well, this is more of a backend work than a feature but you must have the backups done of your SaaS, especially if your SaaS is providing something very important then doing the data backup every day or else once a week is fine. Also, have the infrastructure ready for the retention of your data backup, in case of any problems how quickly your SaaS can stand on backup data.
#6 Managing all the multitenant users
Now this is very simple and most of you have thought about this in the first place but listen me out, if your SaaS is built on Multi-tenant architecture means there are organizations then inside it that can add multiple users and these users can do specific tasks, in this case you must have a detail list tree for each organization and also the control to change the Roles and edit their features they can use in the SaaS.
These were some of the must-have features for your MVP SaaS launch, you can also add other features related to your SaaS on top of these like having the ability to Create, Edit, or Delete any data of users or add Team Members to your Admin SaaS there can be many depending on what SaaS you are using. This is very generic in case you want me to create a custom checklist for your SaaS Admin side or the launch of your MVP SaaS please feel free to reach me I would be more than happy to help.
Also if you are planning to start a SaaS or want to get in-depth knowledge about the tips and tricks of launching a successful SaaS then you should check this book of mine.
